A TowBoatUS towing membership is priced in annual dues; an unplanned tow is priced by the job. Here is the arithmetic, and here is exactly which jobs the dues take care of.

Annual dues
- Unlimited freshwater towing — about $130 a year
- Combo, freshwater and saltwater, unlimited towing — about $215 a year
A single on-water assistance call for a non-member typically runs $300 to $500 nationally. That is the whole case for carrying a membership before the weekend you need it.
Membership is bought through TowBoatUS and BoatUS, and members get nationwide coverage.
What membership covers
Towing, soft ungroundings, battery jump starts and fuel delivery. For members, those covered services are paid 100% by BoatUS with no paperwork — on a fuel delivery, a member pays for the fuel itself and nothing more. Non-members are served at posted rates, quoted before the boat leaves the dock.
Salvage is not covered by any towing membership and is normally paid by the boat owner’s insurance. Membership towing coverage is not available in Florida or Hawaii.

H2O Boat Tow LLC is the operating company behind these two lakes, and it operates as a TowBoatUS operator.
H2O Boat Tow also operates the TowBoatUS ports at Possum Kingdom Lake, Lake Fork, Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend, and bought the TowBoatUS Sabine Lake port in September 2026.

You do not have to be a BoatUS member to be helped. We work with insurance policies that carry towing, and cash pay is accepted. Either way, the price for a non-member is quoted before the boat leaves the dock.
